Compression ratio has been maintained at 9.0:1 for first and 10.0:1 for the last two models. Valve train has 24-valve SOHC as standard for both GT and GTS trims and 16-valve SOHC for GS model. All the models come with multi-port fuel injection and electronic ignition system with antitheft engine immobilizer. All the models are front wheel drive with stainless steel exhaust system and 90/85/85 Amps alternators respectively for three models. 5-speed manual transmission is standard for all where as 4-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control and clutchless manual shifting (Sportronic Transmission) is available. 

Unibody construction is standard for al the variants. Front independent suspension with MacPherson Struts w/ coil springs is standard with independent Multi-link rear suspension with coil springs. Stabilizer bar has standard figures of (mm.,front/rear) as 16.0/19.0 for GT and GTS models and for GS trim it is 16.0/18.0 (mm., front/rear). Front strut tower brace is also standard for all trims. Variable power-assist rack-and-pinion steering is provided, with steering ratio as 17.4: 1 for GT and GTS and 17.0:1 for GS. Curb-to-Curb turning diameter in ft. is 35.4 for GS and 40.0 for GT and GTS trims. Power-assist ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes of in. 10.9/10.3 at front/rear are standard for GT and GTS whereas GS has power-assist ventilated front disc/rear drum brakes (in., front/rear) 10.1/9.0. Antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and traction control system has been provided only with the GTS trim. Wheels are 16 x 6 five spoke alloy for GS, 17 x 6.5 five-spoke alloy for GT and 17 x 6.5 five-spoke polished alloy for GTS. Standard all-season tires are P205/55 HR16 for GS trim and P215/50 VR 17 for GT and GTS trims.
